Haad Rin Beach

The principal town of Koh Phangan is Thong Sala, but Haad [beach] Rin is the most crowded area in the island and its entertainment center. Thong Sala is the Thai version of Washington, whereas Haad Rin resembels New York. In Haad Rin one can find the richest variety of pubs, restaurants and bungalows, and the famous Full Moon Party is also held here on a monthly basis. The seaport, functions as a sea connection to Koh Samui, is also located in Haad Rin.

Except for pubs, restaurants and bungalows Haad Rin has the best selection of facilities of any kind: a hospital clinic, trauma center, police station, post office, banks, ATMs, exchange offices, internet and telephone service offices. There is also a generous choice of activities: shopping, boat trips, sailing, diving, fishing trips, mountain and beach treks.

Haad Rin can be divided to two different “sub-beaches”:

1. Haad Rin Nok (Sunrise Beach, located on the southeast side of Koh Phangan) – densely populated, lively and nonstop partying area. Staying at Haad Rin Nok means fast and easy access to the pubs, restaurants, clubs and parties.

2. Haad Rin Nai (Sunset Beach, located on the southwest side of Koh Phangan)– a quieter side of Haad Rin, where you can still reach all the Haad Rin Nok facilities by foot. It is probably the best choice if you prefer to combine between accessibility, peace and tranquility.
